Meet Kripac and Bareilles

I have a habit to listen to some music before sleep. Last night, my iTunes shuffled around through Lenka's and Sara Bareilles' songs. I just realized it has been a while since the last time I heard their voices, I guess I really drown and sink too deep into Korean Wave lately >.<

As a fan, I went to Sara's and Lenka's concert in Jakarta last year. I really really love Sara's performance! It was an intimate yet joyful concert because Sara loved to play around with the audience. When the audience asked Sara to sing one of her hits "Between The Lines" even though the song is not on her list, she still tried to sing it while trying to guess some of the song's keys on her piano. It's so funny when she made several mistakes because she hasn't practice to play it for a long time :) Sara was wearing a simple all black outfit, up do her hair, and the stage decoration is just an all black curtain too. It was so simple yet memorable. I wish I'll have a chance to watch her live performance again someday. When I opened Sara's official web, the homepage placed a big announcement about her new EP. I'm listening to her new songs at the moment ^^

Lenka's performance was also fun and enjoyable. She was on an early pregnancy when she held her concert in Jakarta last October. She has asked one of her fans to write some lyrics for "Everything At Once" and sang that new version while play the tunes on her keyboard :) She's wearing a simple batik dress that look so cute on her. The stage was small with a little decoration that match with her second album concept "Two". Everything's good except the choice of the concert venue. I went through to Lenka's official website and it hasn't been updated for a while, I guess Lenka is currently enjoying her new duty as a mother :)

Below are some youtube links of my favorites songs from Lenka and Sara!

2. Lenka - Don't Let Me Fall
3. Lenka - The Show
4. Lenka - Heart Skips A Beat
5. Lenka - Everything's Okay
6. Lenka - Bring Me Down

I love the concept of Lenka's "Trouble is A Friend" video!

7. Sara Bareilles - King of Anything

My fav MV!

8. Sara Bareilles - Love Song
9. Sara Bareilles - Uncharted
10. Sara Bareilles - Basket Case
11. Sara Bareilles - Gravity
12. Sara Bareilles - Love on The Rocks

Have you ever heard Sara's version of Yellow? IMO, it's more heartbreaking than Coldplay..

Hope you'll enjoy their music as much as I do ;)

Happy Thursday! Who's fasting today? Happy fasting you, you, and you! :D

I'm A Loner

I'm the type of person who read the lyrics and try to find the meaning behind a song. I'm a weirdo.

Last night I went to have some fun with my friends and decided to close the day with 2,5 hours of karaoke. I've got a chance to sing CNBLUE's Oetoriya (I'm A Loner) although I sang the song alone happily because none of my friends know how to sing this song ;p

This morning, I heard the same song on my phone, scrolled down the lyrics, while humming with its melody. After read those words throughly, I stunned for a moment.. *blush & burning* daradiridaraduu..

Somehow, I love how FNC Music formed and named the band as C(ode) N(ame) B(urning)L(ovely)U(ntouchable)E(motional). Because, IMHO, their music perfectly sync with those words :)

In case you haven't seen the MV of Oetoriya, you can check this video out!

The Glee Project: from 1.0 to 2.0

There's something wrong with my internet connection since last week :( I've been longing to write something about The Glee Project. So, after my connection is back, finally here they are!

The Glee Project is a competition with an ultimate grand prize: a new role on Glee. In order to win, The Contenders should conquer the weekly theme (Individuality, Tenacity, Dance-ability, etc) and show their best performance to The Mentors (Nikki Anders - Vocal Arranger & Songwriter of Glee, Robert Ulrich - Casting Director of Glee, Zach Woodle - Choreographer of Glee) and Ryan Murphy as co-creator of Glee. For each episode, The Contenders have to nail their homework assignment, record a song and learn choreography for their big group number to create a music video, and wish they get call back.

The winners from the first season are Damian McGinty, Samuel Larson, Lindsay Pierce, and Alex Newell. Below there are some pictures of their appearance on Glee Season 3.

The second season of The Glee Project is currently airing on Oxygen. Let's meet The Contenders!

1. Abraham Lim - The Asian boy
2. Ali -  The cheerful girl on a wheelchair
3. Aylin - The most flirtatious one
4. Blake - The boy next door
5. Charlie - The boy who born to be a director
6. Dani - The boyish girl
7. Lily Mae - The most competitive one
8. Mario - The guy who sees the world from his heart
9. Maxfield - The newbie perfomer
10. Michael - The boy who loves math
11. Nellie - The girl who lack of confident
12. Shanna - The sweetest smiley girl
13. Taryn - The one who left the show voluntarily on eps 2
14. Tyler - The transgender boy

Which one is your favorite? My favorite are geeky Michael, quirky Nellie, and lovely Shanna :)
Last night, the 7th episode was aired and up until now 7 contenders have left the competition, while the rest are still struggling to reach their dream and get a special role on Glee Season 4.

The most famous and favorite contender from The Glee Project Season 1, Cameron Mithcell, has posted a new video on his youtube recently. I love his new hair! ;)

You can check out another Cameron's cool videos and awesome music from his youtube channel: cameronmitchellmusic. You should watch Stop This Train (John Mayer Cover) video, both Cameron's face and voice will melt you down..

Hell yeah, I'm a Gleek.

A Gentleman's Dignity

For the last two days, I've been spending my time watching a Korean Drama called "A Gentleman's Dignity". The main story is about the life of four men in their forties who have been friends since their eighteen. It's like Sex and The City from the opposite point of view.

The quartet main actors: Lee Jong-hyuk, Jang Dong-gun, Kim So-roo, Kim Min-jong

While watching this drama, I always wondering whether my boy friends' life will be like the quartet main actors in their forties. It's quite hilarious to be imagine ^^

If you're a fan of Running Man or Family Outing, you must be familiar with Kim So-roo "The Game Devil". Kim Min-jong also has participated on Running Man as a guest on Christmas 2010 with Super Junior's Si-won.

Jonghyun's involvement as one of supporting actor and Yonghwa cameo appearance (eps 13) are the biggest trigger for me to watch this drama at first, but it turned out that I'm still enjoying the story without their faces on some episodes :))

Jonghyun as Colin Black. It has been said that one of the quartet is his father!

Yonghwa as himself (cameo for eps 13)

A Gentleman's Dignity is still running on SBS every weekend (last weekend it's the 14th eps) and currently planned to be aired for 20 episodes.

This drama has great soundtracks too. So it's good your eyes, ears, and tasty food for your soul! ;)

How to: the simplest way to make Tteokbokki

떡볶이 / Tteokbokki (I pronounced it as Tokpoki) is one of Korean popular snacks. In Korea, you can find this dish almost everywhere: street vendors, food stalls, or restaurants. Shindang-dong is the most famous area to eat Tteokbokki in Seoul. If you ever watch Korean drama or variety show, I'm sure you've seen this spicy snack. The main ingredients of this dish are rice cake called garaetteok and gochujang (Korean red chilli paste).

Tteokbokki has become my favorite Korean dish since the first time I tried it, maybe because I love to eat spicy food ^^. With a little guide from a good friend of mine @ava_afra, who's been studying Korean language and culture, now I can make my own Tteokbokki at home :)

On this post I'll share my simplest way to cook Tteokbokki.

Ingredients:
1. Rice cake
2. Fish cake
3. Gochujang (red chilli paste)
4. Ramyeon or instant noodles' seasoning
5. Your own choice of vegetables (I used chives and cabbage)
6. Water
7. Sugar
You can also added meat, anchovies, ramyeon, or an egg, it depends on your taste :)

1. Boil an egg until it's cooked.

2. Cut the rice cake (about a half of finger size), fish cake, and vegetables.

3. Pour 300 ml of water to your pan then add ramyeon or instant noodles' seasoning, two table spoons of Gochujang, and one table spoons of sugar. Stir and wait until the water boils (about 3 minutes). Actually, the amount of gochujang and sugar are depend on you taste.

4. Add the rice cake (plus ramyeon or instant noodle if you want). Wait about 3 minutes until they're cooked.

5. Add the fish cake and vegetables. Stir and wait about 5 minutes until they're all cooked and the rice cake is shiny.

6. Peel and add the egg that already boiled before. Stir until the sauce is thick.

Voila! This is my home made Tteokbokki :D

I always bought the rice cake, fish cake, and gochujang from K-Mart or Korean Market at Wijaya (near Grand Wijaya Center). I haven't checked yet if Lotte Mart also sell those things.

So, what's your plan this Sunday? Dare to try or cook Tteokbokki? Wish you have a great one, happy Sunday! ;)

Blue Storm Review (plus Japanese Comeback)

I received "CNBLUE Blue Storm Live Concert DVD" as my birthday present from my big brother 2 weeks ago. It was about a month after my birthday, but I was so happy when the package finally arrived. The DVD set include two DVDs with a one hundred-page phonebook. The first DVD includes the full coverage of the Blue Storm concert in Seoul and the second DVD is the making of the concert. Blue Storm was the theme of CNBLUE Asia's tour for promoting their first Korean album "First Step" last year.

Cr. Google

The Blue Storm Concert (Live in Seoul) was held two days in a row on September 17th and 18th, 2011. The boys performed 24 songs, including 3 songs from Heartstrings soundtrack: " Star" (Minhyuk's solo performance), "Because I Miss You" and "You've Fallen For Me". Heartstrings is a Korean drama where Yonghwa participated as the main actor and Minhyuk as one of supporting actors.

Cr. soompi.com

Before playing "You've Fallen For Me", Jungshin asked Yonghwa's permission to sing the first verse of this song, then they were joking around about Jungshin's role as their happy virus and Yonghwa's strange habit to sleep with Jungshin when they're overseas haha :))

A surprise came form the boys when they played "Love Light" with a different arrangement. A sweet-ballad song became a tough-rock n roll one. Whoaa :O

Now I'm dying to watch, jump, and shout on their live performance… huhuhu :( I hope their will finish and release their new album soon along with an Asia tour!

Nowadays, CNBLUE was busy preparing their Japanese comeback with a brand new song "Come On". Warner Music Japan has released the teaser of Come On MV last Sunday and the single will come out on August 1st! Take me to Japaaannnnnn aaaaaaaa…

Yesterday I already found the full version of Come On MV on Youtube :D

What are you doing this Friday night? I will be having a dinner with my high school friends. It will be fun for sure! Happy Friday! :)

Campeones de Europa

It's a delay post about Euro 2012 final match. I watched this match in my room, sadly all by myself :( but the result has drawn a big smile on my face :D

SPAIN HAS SUCCESSFULLY RETAINED THE EURO CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY!

Cr. GettyImages /UEFA.com

Del Bosque's squad played furiously well and bring down their opponent, Italy, with 4 goals from David Silva, Jordi Alba, Fernando Torres, and Juan Mata.

With this result, Spain has claimed three major international tournament in a row (Euro 2008, World Cup 2010, Euro 2012). It's a new history on international football championship. They're also becoming the first team who can retain the Euro champion title.

Another great news came from Fernando Torres (Spain striker), who's named as the top scorer of this championship with 3 goals for 189 minutes playing time. El Nino is back! :)

Cr. GettyImages/UEFA.com

While writing this post, I read an article said that UEFA has chosen Andrés Iniesta (Spain's midfielder) as the best player of the tournament. Moreover, UEFA also released its list of 23 man-squad of the tournament, including 10 players from Spain football team. They are Casillas (Goalkeeper), Pique - Ramos - Jordi Alba (Defenders), Xavi - Iniesta - Busquets - Xabi Alonso (Midfielders), Fábregas - Silva (Forwards).

It's quite a big party for Spain football squad since they brought home too many things worth to celebrate for.

Cr. GettyImages/UEFA.com

IMHO, Casillas is the hero for this squad. He's a charming and dependable captain. During the tournament, Casillas just failed once for guarding his goalpost. It was on Spain first match against Italy. In this case, penalty drama with Portugal on semi final is an exception.

The players' sons & daughters also joined the party on the field after the final match. These toddlers were wearing Spain jersey with their daddies' number. It's too cute to be seen! ;)

Hats off for the best national football team on the moment. Felicidades España! Viva La Furia Roja!
