What to do in Bali nowadays? You still can do surfing, diving, snorkeling, or any other activities on the sea, but for me: eat, go watch sunset, eat, and eat.

I love the mysterious vibe from this coffee shop. You won't find it easily since it's located behind Home store & This Is A Love Song store on Jalan Kayu Aya. Beside those stores theres an alley called Gang 51, keep watch to your left and you'll find this door. You might wondering if this coffee shop is open or not because there's no window and the door is closed. Raised up my curiosity. Great coffee and ambience, but not so much for the food.

I stucked with work the whole weekend, so I'm taking a day off today to regain my energy :)

1. There's always be a comfortable corner for a loner visitor

3. The right place to be more productive (working or having a quality talk with best friends)

4. I able to drown in my own world for hours in a public place and no one complain

5. There's no weirdo here, there's only a bunch of different types of people

7. Good coffee, great gulp, sweet munch, savory bite. Anything.

Kuala Lumpur Trip

The time has come.. Kuala Lumpur trip recap! Wohoo!

But first of all, please take away my last KL trip plan post from your mind. In short story, I didn't go around that much (super lazy me, P & M). Just strolling Bukit Bintang-Imbi-Hang Tuah area. So say goodbye to Yut Kee Kopitiam, Marafuku Japanese Udon, and that delicious looking Nasi Lemak at Village Park Restaurant (T_T). I managed to reach IKEA though. LOT 10 is located in Bukit Bintang, so of course I spared my time to visit that place. Despite of that fact, I still have a freakin' good time that weekend =)

One more, please don't expect this post to be a travel guide to Kuala Lumpur. The main reason I took this trip was to watch CNBLUE Blue Moon concert. So I didn't have any plan to visit Kuala Lumpur main tourist attractions or going for a wander adventure at the first place.

Now it's time for me to share the details.

DAY 1 : CGK-LCCT-Hotel Sentral Pudu

After almost one hour delay and 2 hours flight, I arrived at LCC Terminal Kuala Lumpur around 4pm. I took Star Shuttle Bus to go to Pudu Raya area and paid MYR 8 for almost 2 hours journey (caught on bad traffic). Unlike KLIA, LCCT doesn't yet have railway connection to reach central city. If you want to go to KL Sentral by train you have to take shuttle bus to KLIA first. (more info about LCCT bus service)

The traffic on Pudu Raya was so bad that evening so my friends and I decided to take a walk to find our hotel. After 20 mins of walking, silly thing happened when we realized that we went to the opposite direction. Poor us :( We dragged ourselves to the start point and continue looking for Hotel Sentral Pudu. In the end we still need to catch a taxi because there's a road construction nearby. No meter taxi, I hate that.

Arrived at Hotel Sentral Pudu around 7.30pm, had a quick a bath because we sweat so much after that long 1 hour walk, we went outside to grab some food for dinner. We only need 5 mins walk to reach Berjaya Time Square and we found... Nando's!

We had a splendid time with that chicken, yummy yummy yumm! We paid MYR 53 for that big full platter of chicken and four side dishes.

DAY 2: Bukit Bintang-Blue Moon KL

We strolled around Bukit Bintang area that afternoon. We took the train from Imbi and got off at Bukit Bintang Station, just 1 station away. Our first destination was a cute coffee shop at Fahrenheit 88, called Coffee Stain by Joseph. Since the building is located behind Lot 10, so we chose Lot 10 exit from the station and accidentally bumped into H&M store on our way out. I couldn't miss that store of course, so we went in and got myself the colorful earring set. The one from my previous H&M post. Soooo happy!

So we arrived at Coffee Stain by Joseph which's located in a quiet corner inside Parkayama (Japanese fashion area) at Fahrenheit 88. I read on a blog that when she visited this coffee shop she ordered a cup of latte with special made spongebob art latte on top and the barista fulfilled her wish! But sadly, I guessed that skillful barista wasn't on duty during my visit :(

After that we're just dealing with girl's shopping ritual and grabbed our lunch on Pavillion Shopping Mall. M & I accompanied P to taste the famous Ippudo Ramen. The ramen looked soooo damn good, a big temptation, seriously. But I promised myself to not eating pork again (God please help me T.T) so I just shared a mini bowl of Tori Ishiyaki (chicken in hot stone) with M. We filled our tummy with Mix Shawarma from Tarbush Express on Food Republic later. Just for your info, one big bowl of Shiro Ramen at Ippudo will cost you MYR 26 and MYR 3 for a glass of Hot/Iced Green Tea.

We went back to our hotel on 4pm because M & I had to prepare ourselves then catch the "Blue Moon"on Stadium Negara that night. We had a really good time of course :) I'll share all the juicy, crazy, unexpected trip for my "Blue Moon" season once I ended the journey this October in Jakarta. Suddenly I remember it'll probably my last time to watch that epic "Blue Moon" and I feel a little grief deep down my heart :(

DAY 3: IKEA-Bukit Bintang

IKEA! No matter what, if it's rainy or sunny, I had to go. We took a long ride from Imbi Station to reach Kelana Jaya Station (transferred from monorail to LRT at Masjid Jamek station) then hop on to free shuttle bus to IPC Shopping Center. I almost found everything that I looked for: the lamp, the colorful mirror, city drawing decorations, the colorful straws, the pink lips pillow.. but due to my tight budget, I only paid for the pretty pink lamp, city wall decorations, and one blue mirror.

We ended up at Bukit Bintang area (again) that evening and finally got some time to try Kim Lian Kee's Hokkien Mie at Lot 10 food market. Honestly, it tasted bitter but I've been curious about it for so long, in the end I almost finished the whole plate. Maybe I was just so hungry ^^. I paid MYR 10.05 for a plate of Hokkien Mee.

We closed our last night with a can of Makgeolli. To be forever young! Cheers!

DAY 4: LCCT-CGK

I was quite surprised knowing that the staff at our hotel, and the taxi driver too, didn't know THERE IS a bus that can take us from Pudu Sentral to LCC Terminal. The taxi driver even insisted to take us to KL Sentral because he was so sure The Star Shuttle Bus that we've mentioned didn't exist at Pudu Sentral. But yeah, there is mister.

By the way, a little review about Hotel Sentral Pudu. The have clean spacious room, nice and helpful staffs, also wide variety food for breakfast. It was a pleasant stay.

Just a little advice for you, sometimes you don't have to follow local people's suggestion about some things. Browse more on the internet, there are more than enough tourists who can help to you to make your journey easier. But it doesn't mean you can be an arrogant tourist and closed your ears for their words. The point is you can be a smarter tourist if you want to dig a little deeper :)

I don't have any travel plan this month, but something big have been waiting at the end of next month. FALL TRIP TO JAPAN! \m/

Travel to South Korea: Seoul Story Pt. 3

Have you ever seen the pictures of Korean coffee shops? They're nice and pretty. Each coffee shop has their own theme with unique decoration and always packed with people, day & night. It's just like a daily habit for Korean people to spend their time on their favorite coffee shop and grab their own cup of coffee. Mostly for the youth and business people who live in the big city like Seoul.

South Korea has several local brands of coffee shop and they're very famous around the country. Angel-in-us Coffee, Hollys Coffee, Caffe Bene, Tom n Toms, Ediya Coffee and so on. To visit one of Korean famous coffee shop was on my list and I chose The Zoo Coffee. Why? Just because my favorite K-drama which aired at that moment, Nice Guy, has filmed some scenes at Zoo Coffee Sinjungdong branch :)

Sinjungdong is quite far from the center of Seoul. I was traveling alone after had lunch with my brother and his Korean friend at Lotte Shopping Mall. It's a raining and chilly Sunday. I went to COEX and Hongdae first to check on Song Joong Ki's movie (A Werewolf Boy) with an english subs, but it turned out that they're just have the eng subs show for a certain day and time. I took the SMRT (Seoul Subway) from Hongdae Station (line 2) to Sinjungdong Station (line 7). I wasn't familiar with Sinjungdong area and I didn't have a clear direction how to reach the Zoo Coffee either. I just depended on myself to read the map in hangeul written that I got from Zoo Coffee web, and pray for some luck.

After 40 minutes walking around in Sinjungdong area, headed to the wrong direction and tried another pathway to the narrow street behind the buildings.. at the time when I almost gave up and decided to go back.. I found Zoo Coffee shop! YEAAAYY! :D

Where's Kang Choco?

I ordered a glass of hot chocolate for around 4000 KRW and glad that the taste was match with my appetite. I really want to stay for a longer time inside this coffee shop, but unfortunately my brother was already waiting for me at COEX. It took about 40 minutes from Sinjungdong to Samseong Station, so I drank my hot chocolate in a rush and prepared myself to deal with the cold weather outside. 

One of my favorite thing about Korean Coffee Shop or Cafe is most of them are using wood for their interior. So, I think it has made the customers feel warmer and stay inside :)

As I mentioned earlier, me and my brother was going to Lotte Shopping Mall (Jamsil Station, line 8) to meet his Korean friend and grab our lunch. I have the spicy octopus with rice and vegetables for my lunch. Honestly, chewing an octopus it's harder than I thought :3

After lunch, before shopping for some Korean snacks at Lotte Mart, we made a quick visit to Lotte World (amusement park, indoor & outdoor) entrance and skate rink.. plus Pororo Park!

When we're shopping at Lotte Mart, I followed my brother's friend advice to buy the most favorite Korean snack. She highly recommend the rice crackers, the chocolate-strawberry biscuits (I forgot the brand), and Pepero! Pepero is quite the same as Pocky. It turned out that day was a Pepero Day at Korea when everyone sending out Pepero for their friends or family. I'm curious who started this unique tradition. So, 11.11 is a Pepero day at Korea, noted :)

I had a plan to watch Song Joong Ki's movie called A Werewolf Boy at the cinema later that day. After gathered some info, I found that there's a show with an english subtitle that evening on MegaBox Theater at COEX or Lotte Cinema at Hongdae. I managed to reach those cinema but the staff said they didn't have the show with an eng sub :( So I decided to watch the movie next day at Myeongdong, without the eng sub. I didn't understand all the conversations, but I still get along with the story and tried to hold my tears once its reached the ending. The movie was GREAAATTTT! DAEBAK! Song Joong Ki's acting as a werewolf was beyond expectation. No wonder it has become the no. 1 movie at Korea for several weeks. Too bad this movie isn't going to show on Indonesia cinemas. Boooo..

The cost for watching a movie at CGV cinema at Myeongdong on Monday is 8000 KRW.

Earlier that Sunday, me and my brother moved out from our hostel at Myeongdong and went to Anguk to feel the Hanok Stay experience for our last 2 nights at Seoul. Hanok is a traditional house of Korea. Anguk is very near to Gwanghwamun, so I decided to walk around Bukchon Hanok Village and Samcheongdong area on Monday morning, alone again without my brother. 

The weather was nice that morning. When I saw the map, I decided to go to Bukchon Hanok Village first, then Samcheongdong, and going back to Anguk while passing through Gyeongbokgung Palace at Gwanghwamun. Bukchon Hanok Village was located about 15 minutes of walking from Anguk.

Beautiful Hanok on every corner at Bukchon Hanok Village. A treat for my eyes :) Don't worry if you get lost while walking around, you can find the map and the direction signs easily. I lost my way in the middle of this village because the alley is narrow and there's a lot of intersections. But thanks for the map, I can found my way to Samcheongdong.

I read a lot of review at people blog about the beauty of Samcheongdong. Lots of beautiful and pretty cafes are form a line along the street on this area.

On my way home to Yoo's Family at Anguk, I passed along the entrance of Korea National Folk Museum and Gyeongbokgung Palace East Gate.

Across Gyeongbokgung Palace East Gate, The UUL National Art Museum Seoul is under construction with an eye catching campaign :)

Before reached Yoo's Family, after passed Gwanghwamun area, I also took a quick snap across Insadong. The place with hangeul written all over the place, even for international brand like Starbucks.

Changdeok Palace is located across the street from Yoo's Family. I found a very beautiful garden right next to this palace.

The colors of autumn :)

Walking around in a clean, friendly, busy yet pretty city like Seoul is a good package for my health and heart. The scenery definitely made me happy :)
