CODE NAME BLUE

Japan Major 1st Album, out NOW!

Here it is! The 29th of August that I've been waiting for already said hello yesterday. I'm writing this blog while listening to CNBLUE new Japanese album called "CODE NAME BLUE". This one sounds different than others. The boys said there are various types of songs in this album and they can be the perfect soundtrack for your day. I totally agree with them. Happy, sad, broken, angry? or anything else you name it, just choose a song and sing it loudly.

There are 14 songs on this album. 7 of them are new songs, while others have been released on their previous Japanese single or mini album. The leader YongHwa composed/co-composed 10 songs. Wohoooo! :D

My favorites from their new songs are "These days" and "Blue sky", really love both lyrics and melodies! The genius JongHyun is the man behind "These days" music, no wonder.. :)

YongSeo Story

I've told you once that I'm a big fan of YongSeo couple. Do you remember? :)
YongSeo is a nickname for YongHwa (CNBLUE) and SeoHyun (Girls' Generation) as a couple on We Got Married, MBC's virtual marriage variety show. They lived happily as 'husband and wife' since February 2010 until March 2011.

I've just finished watching their story for the 5th time. Despite of that fact, I was still smiling, laughing, and feeling some butterflies in my stomach while enjoying the show. I always end up with teary eyes and trembling heart when its reached the ending.

I really really really really really love their unique, sweet, meaningful and playful journey <3

Awkward moments as a "to-be-married" couple at first...

Sharing each other interests...

Push and pull game...

One of a kind birthday present...

The precious couple rings...

Sing their story to the world through the 'banmal song'...

A special stage duet...

Love letters...

Hand made gifts (books and scarf)...

Why all good things always come to an end? :'(

When the show started filming, SeoHyun was just a 19 years old girl who didn't have any experience related to man or love. She didn't know the difference between like and love. But on the final episode, she said:

"If I were compare it to something, if I had to put it across beautifully.. Liking is the feeling of a dandelion gently landing on the ground. It's warm and joyous. Love is the feeling of watching a dandelion seed growing on the ground and eventually blossoming. If it's just liking, it can be the dandelion seed that comes and goes with the wind. However, for it to blossom, you have to water it and shield it from the wind. You have to take special care of it."

Clearly, throughout a year, Seohyun has learned something, hasn't she? I also have learned bunch of things from this couple story ;)

A Gentleman's Dignity

For the last two days, I've been spending my time watching a Korean Drama called "A Gentleman's Dignity". The main story is about the life of four men in their forties who have been friends since their eighteen. It's like Sex and The City from the opposite point of view.

The quartet main actors: Lee Jong-hyuk, Jang Dong-gun, Kim So-roo, Kim Min-jong

While watching this drama, I always wondering whether my boy friends' life will be like the quartet main actors in their forties. It's quite hilarious to be imagine ^^

If you're a fan of Running Man or Family Outing, you must be familiar with Kim So-roo "The Game Devil". Kim Min-jong also has participated on Running Man as a guest on Christmas 2010 with Super Junior's Si-won.

Jonghyun's involvement as one of supporting actor and Yonghwa cameo appearance (eps 13) are the biggest trigger for me to watch this drama at first, but it turned out that I'm still enjoying the story without their faces on some episodes :))

Jonghyun as Colin Black. It has been said that one of the quartet is his father!

Yonghwa as himself (cameo for eps 13)

A Gentleman's Dignity is still running on SBS every weekend (last weekend it's the 14th eps) and currently planned to be aired for 20 episodes.

This drama has great soundtracks too. So it's good your eyes, ears, and tasty food for your soul! ;)

How to: the simplest way to make Tteokbokki

떡볶이 / Tteokbokki (I pronounced it as Tokpoki) is one of Korean popular snacks. In Korea, you can find this dish almost everywhere: street vendors, food stalls, or restaurants. Shindang-dong is the most famous area to eat Tteokbokki in Seoul. If you ever watch Korean drama or variety show, I'm sure you've seen this spicy snack. The main ingredients of this dish are rice cake called garaetteok and gochujang (Korean red chilli paste).

Tteokbokki has become my favorite Korean dish since the first time I tried it, maybe because I love to eat spicy food ^^. With a little guide from a good friend of mine @ava_afra, who's been studying Korean language and culture, now I can make my own Tteokbokki at home :)

On this post I'll share my simplest way to cook Tteokbokki.

Ingredients:
1. Rice cake
2. Fish cake
3. Gochujang (red chilli paste)
4. Ramyeon or instant noodles' seasoning
5. Your own choice of vegetables (I used chives and cabbage)
6. Water
7. Sugar
You can also added meat, anchovies, ramyeon, or an egg, it depends on your taste :)

1. Boil an egg until it's cooked.

2. Cut the rice cake (about a half of finger size), fish cake, and vegetables.

3. Pour 300 ml of water to your pan then add ramyeon or instant noodles' seasoning, two table spoons of Gochujang, and one table spoons of sugar. Stir and wait until the water boils (about 3 minutes). Actually, the amount of gochujang and sugar are depend on you taste.

4. Add the rice cake (plus ramyeon or instant noodle if you want). Wait about 3 minutes until they're cooked.

5. Add the fish cake and vegetables. Stir and wait about 5 minutes until they're all cooked and the rice cake is shiny.

6. Peel and add the egg that already boiled before. Stir until the sauce is thick.

Voila! This is my home made Tteokbokki :D

I always bought the rice cake, fish cake, and gochujang from K-Mart or Korean Market at Wijaya (near Grand Wijaya Center). I haven't checked yet if Lotte Mart also sell those things.

So, what's your plan this Sunday? Dare to try or cook Tteokbokki? Wish you have a great one, happy Sunday! ;)

Blue Storm Review (plus Japanese Comeback)

I received "CNBLUE Blue Storm Live Concert DVD" as my birthday present from my big brother 2 weeks ago. It was about a month after my birthday, but I was so happy when the package finally arrived. The DVD set include two DVDs with a one hundred-page phonebook. The first DVD includes the full coverage of the Blue Storm concert in Seoul and the second DVD is the making of the concert. Blue Storm was the theme of CNBLUE Asia's tour for promoting their first Korean album "First Step" last year.

The Blue Storm Concert (Live in Seoul) was held two days in a row on September 17th and 18th, 2011. The boys performed 24 songs, including 3 songs from Heartstrings soundtrack: " Star" (Minhyuk's solo performance), "Because I Miss You" and "You've Fallen For Me". Heartstrings is a Korean drama where Yonghwa participated as the main actor and Minhyuk as one of supporting actors.

Before playing "You've Fallen For Me", Jungshin asked Yonghwa's permission to sing the first verse of this song, then they were joking around about Jungshin's role as their happy virus and Yonghwa's strange habit to sleep with Jungshin when they're overseas haha :))

A surprise came form the boys when they played "Love Light" with a different arrangement. A sweet-ballad song became a tough-rock n roll one. Whoaa :O

Now I'm dying to watch, jump, and shout on their live performance… huhuhu :( I hope their will finish and release their new album soon along with an Asia tour!

Nowadays, CNBLUE was busy preparing their Japanese comeback with a brand new song "Come On". Warner Music Japan has released the teaser of Come On MV last Sunday and the single will come out on August 1st! Take me to Japaaannnnnn aaaaaaaa…

Yesterday I already found the full version of Come On MV on Youtube :D

What are you doing this Friday night? I will be having a dinner with my high school friends. It will be fun for sure! Happy Friday! :)

Saengil Chukhahamnida! ^^

Kang Minhyuk (CNBLUE's drummer) and Seo Joohyun (SNSD's youngest member) are having their 22nd birthday today!

Based on this post you'll judge me as a K-POP fan haha.. I do love CNBLUE! But still a newbie for being Boice (CNBLUE fans). So don't be surprised if you'll find another posts about CNBLUE next time ;)

I also admire SeoHyun after I watched one of her variety show called We Got Married with Jung YongHwa as a virtual marriage couple. They're well known as YongSeo couple or Goguma couple <3

Cr. Google

Today Minhyuk's message on Line has woken me up from my peaceful sleep...

He also tweeted something via CNBLUE twitter (@CNBLUE_4). I don't really understand what he meant and I already tried to translate it via google, I think he said thank you for all the greetings from his fans. He's truly a Lovely guy indeed! ;*

Last week, on 22th of June, CNBLUE's leader Jung YongHwa has turned 24. He also sent a Line message and tweeted something that day. I read the translated tweet via YongSeo International blog (sweetpotatodays.blogspot.com).

Translation:
